Our region offers some of Greece’s most stunning and dramatic scenery, from mountain ranges, gorges, and hilly landscapes riddled with centuries-old stone paths for walking and trekking to numerous beaches where one can spend the day laying in the sun, swimming or snorkeling in the crystal clear waters.
Driving south along the coast from Kardamyli is Kalamitsi, a small, non-organized, pebbled beach lined with cypress trees.
The beach of Foneas is one of the most beautiful beaches in Messinia, with white pebbles, deep blue waters, and a large rock in the middle, offering natural shade and ample opportunity for climbing and diving in the water. Just further down from Foneas, you will find Delphinia beach, with blue-green waters, dark sand, and pebbles. Kalogria and its neighbouring Stoupa are larger and busier, yet also worth visiting for their pure sand, calm waters, and little tavernas. Between the fishing villages of Agios Nikolaos and Agios Dimitrios is Pantazi beach, with thick, dark sand.
